Devin Lloyd | dlloyd7@bu.edu

Devin is a PhD student in Cell and Molecular Biology. He received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Mathematics from Northeastern University, where he worked in Veronica Godoy-Carter's lab studying genetic pathways that promote biofilm formation in the opportunistic pathogen Acinetobacter baumannii.

Before arriving at BU, Devin worked in Kevin Gozzi's lab at the Rowland Institute at Harvard, where he researched gene transfer agents, an understudied type of horizontal gene transfer. In the Larkin lab, he studies the relationship between sporulation and germination in Bacillus subtilis, particularly within the context of biofilms. Outside of lab, Devin enjoys cooking, baking, biking in and around Boston, and plays violin in the Brookline Symphony Orchestra.
